Do you think they line up cadets in the academy and beat down people?
The answer to those questions is both, “Absolutely not.”
They learn that stuff on the street. Usually before the even become police.
Yes, but they obviously don’t tell them not to use their street behavior once they get to be police.
So it’s a department issue, not just an individual issue. How could a department have so MANY “out of control” cops, and also how could the sheriffs and others who arrived not have wondered about this?
There’s a problem there and in many departments. They never oppose real crime or riots but are trained to attack weakness (that is, a government-designated enemy of the people, such as an anti-abortion protester) or personal insults. I think they thought he was dissin’ them and they didn’t like his type.
