We went with Amazon Firesticks including on our web enabled TVs since a lot of the free apps aren’t built for all the web enabled TVs but they are for the Firestick. We subscribe to YouTubeTV & Frndly for the History Channel. Watch a lot of FreeTV and Tubi. We also have Amazon Prime but rarely use it for movies or shows.

I had Time Warner for at least 30 years, and then Spectrum took over. All I wanted was to add the NFL Red Zone to my already existing channel line-up. They told me I would have to speak with someone in sales. After 3 different calls, speaking to 3 different people, and spending 3 hours total on the phone trying to speak to someone in sales, I hung up the phone, unhooked the DVR and second cable box, drove over to the local Spectrum store, and cancelled cable, and my landline. Kept their internet because it’s the only high speed service available in my area. Then, two weeks later, I had to call customer service again, because although the moron at the store recorded that I’d returned all the equipment, he never bothered to cancel my cable or phone service. Then I had to call back again, because they were charging me too much for my internet. If there was any other internet service that offered speeds comparable to Spectrum, I’d drop them like a hot potato. I would never subscribe to their cable service ever again, and the only calls I ever got on my landline service, were spam calls. Ended up turning the ringer off because of them, and although I used the call filters they offered on my account page, they never worked.

See if TMobile 5G home Internet is available in your area. We pay 40 per month, and stream multiple devices with no probs. Average about 60-75 Mbps.

Our experience with Spectrum for the Internet and TV Choice has been pretty good. Good speed and reliability.

The absolutely hilarious thing is I was browsing through their web page source code and came across their entire script for sales people to use on the phone with customers. It showed how many times the sales rep was to try to keep the customer, then how many times he/she could cut price, and FINALLY, as a last-ditch effort, tell the customer about TV Choice. That was about five years ago. I don’t know if that sales rep script is still in their web page source.

"See if TMobile 5G home Internet is available in your area."

It's not.

For instance, say we add a streaming channel that requires a code or confirmation. Does each Roku need to do this separately?

Yes, if codes are require like with YouTube TV. No, if all you need to enter is a username and password into an app.

“They are independent.” True. Each tv needs to establish its own internet connection before watching shows on Roku or other channels.

May I suggest getting Kodi and a good VPN. A cheap little stand alone PC for each TV. Get one of these for your network too: https://www.silicondust.com/

No fees. Zero. Nada. Zilch. other than a few bucks a month for VPN and you need that in any case just to keep your network a tad more secure.

The addins for Kodi I would recommend are Homelander, Dracarys, DoccumentaryHeaven, ThePromise and Elementum.

#10 I have my favorites in the Pluto tv app. Less then 10.

A search found this: Pluto TV - Drop in. Watch Free. Watch 250+ channels of free TV and 1000’s of on-demand movies and TV shows.

“When will the new rage be collecting data and controlling you.

I suspect soon.”

Yep, absolutely, or denying services. Like as in “You bought bacon and cookies, so we are denying medical coverage for this operation”. How did they get this information? Because the store where you shop is selling it to them off your credit card and rewards card purchase records. This has actually been happening for quite awhile now but they keep it hushed.

I have DirecTV Stream, which is the only way to get Bally Sports Midwest right now other than the Spectrum TV App. However, with Spectrum, I had to either pay $10 monthly for a TV receiver or purchase a $90 Apple TV device.

There is a free seven-day trial with fuboTV, which will carry BSMW sometime in February thanks to a new carriage deal. Although the UI is outstanding, as are the in-game stats as you’re watching a game, it is more expensive than DirecTV stream, and they didn’t have TBS, TNT, Reelz, AMC, or Turner Classic Movies - and those were just only what I briefly discovered.

If fuboTV weren’t more expensive than DirecTV, I might have switched anyway and waited out the appearance of BSMW.

The good news is that BSMW has a new stand-alone streaming service, but at the present time there are only a few MLB teams they have the rights to, like the Kansas City Royals. They are in negotiations with other teams - hopefully the Cardinals are among them.

Once the Cardinals are added, I’ll probably switch to a lower-priced streaming service.

Also, since you’re out-of-market, MLB.TV might be the way to go.

We pay $89 for internet and then we pay for Hulu, Disney/ESPN, Paramount+ and PBS. It’s still MUCH cheaper than Comcast. The cable company refused to run cable so we opted for streaming. The only thing missing is the CliFi Channel (Weather Channel) which I don’t miss but my wife does.

My TV is only used for music streaming.

I switched to cash for most purchases about 2 years ago.
