I know this thread will bring memes with sexual overtones.
Please try to keep those at a minimum.
I always loved dill pickles. My mother fed me sweet pickles and then bread and butter pickles and I gagged.
Famous Dave’s!!!!
I hate buying pickle spears, which are the only type used in this taste test done by a single person. The title says “we” but the reviews all say “I.”
We buy whole dill pickles and when we want a spear, we cut one up. That way they stay crispier.
We like lots of different brands of pickles and we get tired of brands when we have them repetitively. One thing we all agree on is that Vlasic is the worst. They used to be good. Something changed and we don’t like it.
I love dill pickles. Nothing more vile has ever been created than sweet pickles!
I grow my own cucumbers and dill and IMHO make the best dill pickles, particularly owing to the fact that I use 3 times as much dill as recommended.
I made over 80 quarts last season, and have been sharing, seems everyone I share agrees with me that my dills are the best.
I had to learn how to make pickles as when I was living in Thailand it was difficult and expensive to buy dill pickles.
Nalleys Dill Pickles are good enough and are better than Clausens in Potato Salad. Enough said, pickles are for going into tuna salad for sandwiches and tator salad. Too bad they are no longer made in the US. The factory was once in the Pacific NW.
De gustibus non est disputandum

In matters of taste, there can be no disputes.
Nothing compares with any naturally fermented pickle.
I like sweet pickles alot. Don’t care much for dill at all.
I hate Supermarket pickles, except Ba-Tampte in a pinch.
Claussen, Vlassic, all the rest are just gross vinegar sponges.
Like Irish Butter vs regular butter
Hellmann’s vs Miracle Snot
or Macallan vs anything else (Glenfiddich in a pinch).
Why put that crapola in your system?
But don’t ya’ll evah speak poorly about Taco Bell’s Pink Slime.
Thems would be fightin’ words!
Since I suffer from Thrust as a result of taking Symbicort for my COPD, I eat lots of pickles to counter that.
The vinegar helps kill it.
Milwaukee’s Kosher dills are good.
but the best ones are the ones you FERMENT at home....nothing beats a firm, crisp, dilly pickle....
“I was caught with my finger in the pickle slicer.
I was fired.
She was fired, too.”
Either Kuhne or Hengstenberg German barrel pickles, hands down. Far ahead of any US produced dills. Sometimes you can find them at Aldi or stores that handle German foods.
Mt Olive used to be my standard until I saw “Product of India” on the label.
And yes, Claussen is awesome!
Aldi has a surprisingly good dill!
I just want to say that I love dill pickle pizza.
I get the vlasic spears and a jar of Mango Habanero chips and when the chips are gone I put the spears into the Mango Habanero (Sam’s brand) jar for a week or two. Heavenly.
The Mango Habanero pickles have cubed mangos and one large habanero pepper in them.
