The National Institutes of Health has stunningly admitted to funding gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at China’s Wuhan lab — despite Dr. Anthony Fauci repeatedly insisting to Congress that no such thing happened.
In a letter to Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) on Wednesday, a top NIH official blamed EcoHealth Alliance — the New York City-based nonprofit that has funneled US funds to the Wuhan lab — for not being transparent about the work it was doing.
NIH’s principal deputy director, Lawrence A. Tabak, wrote in the letter that EcoHealth’s “limited experiment” tested whether “spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model.”
The lab mice infected with the modified virus “became sicker” than those that were given the unmodified virus, according to Tabak.
The admission from the NIH official directly contradicts Fauci’s testimony to Congress in May and July, when he denied the US had funded gain-of-function projects in Wuhan.
Fauci has repeatedly clashed with Republican senators, including Rand Paul of Kentucky, who have accused him of lying about the gain-of-function research.
Paul erupted on Twitter following the emergence of the NIH letter, saying: “’I told you so’ doesn’t even begin to cover it here.”

And you've been right. Baric is the brains of the operation. That Chinese "Bat Woman" doesn't know anything about gain-of-function that she didn't learn from Baric. Everybody else associated with this fiasco of governmental incompetence, be it Fauci, Daszak, or whomever, are know-nothing bureaucrats, paper pushers, and pharma grifters.
Baric is the amoral Dr. Frankenstein here. He should be the first one on the gallows.
“The algorithm” on youtube reccommended videos from 2014 to me with only 572 total views, that were GOF conferences, where Ralph was arguing for no limits on GOF research.
He argued there was very little chance anyone could be infected from the “Ferret models” he was using.
He Never mentioned the Humanized mice models he was working on for 10 years.
Dude is flat out evil.
Gain of Function research was restored under Trump. You’d never know unless you verify it yourself. He never re-banned it, even after Wuhan (our contractor for the work).

Trump not only admits he overruled Fauci on the vaccine rollout, as Fauci wanted more testing, but Trump even admits he went ahead and paid for millions of doses of it, before the tests for its effectiveness had even started. That’s right, he bought millions of doses before the first test. He actually refers to this decision of his as the greatest “bet” he ever made. Not once but twice.
