TV star Lance Kerwin has died at age 62.

The small-screen actor — who appeared in the 1970s series “James at 16” and the made-for-TV movie “Salem’s Lot” — passed away Tuesday in California.

The sad news was announced on Facebook by his daughter, Savanah. A cause of death has not been disclosed.

“We appreciate all the kind words, memories, and prayers that have been shared,” his daughter wrote. “As the coming weeks progress, I will share more information about after-life ceremonies.”

Kerwin was born in 1960 in Newport Beach, California. The youngest of five brothers, he grew up in a showbiz family, with an acting coach dad and a talent agent mom.

His first TV role came at the age of 13 when he appeared on a 1974 episode of “Emergency!”

Sorry to read that. I liked James At 16, and Salem’s Lot. I still don’t sleep with curtains open at night.

Yeah, me too. James at 16 was maybe the TV show I could most identify with as a teen.

Looks like he had a pretty rough life after his star faded though.

Uh oh. My husband’s been making me watch that - we’ve seen all of it.

Was he one of the kids they killed, as opposed to cured?

I honestly don’t remember much about Salem’s Lot, just that all my family including me (youngest) was glued to it. We had to watch the ending parts in our Waldorf room in NYC, as we went up there for the start of the holiday season after Thanksgiving.

I even tried to emulate him and lose my virginity to a female Nordic exchange student (Norwegian, not Swedish), but sadly it was not to be. :-(

I was just talking about that show a few days ago here on this forum.

"James At 15" came out in 1977 just as I was turning 15. The show was also filmed in Boston, where I lived at the time. So it instantly became one of my favorite shows.

Only lasted two years though. It became "James at 16" a year later but I guess "James at 17" was not to be.

I liked that movie, but I’ve since learned to not like Steven King. It’d be completely mutual if he knew me. He slanders the Church in all his works.

Too funny. I miss being a 70s kid. Eight Is Enough, James at 16. Adam Rich also passed two weeks, ago.

I think I’m going to watch it, later. I have the DVD. I haven’t seen it years, but it kept me up nights for awhile when I was a kid.

I remember him from a TV movie, “The Greatest Gift,” with Glenn Ford, and the series that spun off from that, “The Family Holvak.”

RIP

I remember that episode. Controversial at the time.

The girl was quite pretty if I remember.

“I remember him from a TV movie, ‘The Greatest Gift,’ with Glenn Ford,”

Was that when Glenn Ford was a minister? If so, I never forgot that movie. Very sad.
