Reminds me of the case of Daniel Shaver, an innocent, unarmed man who was murdered in cold blood by a cop in Mesa, Ariz. Had he been black, he would have been as famous as George Floyd, cities from Seattle to Boston would be on fire, and the cop would be on death row—and unlike Derek Chauvin, he would deserve his fate. However, the victim was white, so the cop was never punished, got promoted, and is now comfortably retired, living on a fat pension.

DesertRhino is right about effective and correct Police methods and procedures. If police use robots to determine there is no immediate threat, they should immediately order all officers to stand down. And they should especially expect that a person might pick up one of their little toys which clearly had a light on it.

It was right there on video! It would have been almost funny if it wasn’t so tragic. They toss it in, a little two wheel kid’s toy looking thing. Then it wakes up, light comes on, it sits up and the little gizmo rolls down the hall into his room. Look on the bright side, they didn’t tape a pound of C4 on it.

The cops knew they were done when they saw the video camera.
The whole lot of them need to face attempted murder charges. And that is if the guy lived.
And you know what else? The little robot had a real time cam and someone looking at it. They SAW him pick it up and walk towards the door with it. They should have known exactly what it was in his hand.
