Obviously the list is meant to exclude any healthy fish and allowing only garbage fish like chunk tuna and pink salmon - they do list as prohibited another garbage salmon: chum.
They have to eat bland food as no spices or herbs are allowed; No whole milk except Chocolate; only the blandest of cheese permitted; The largest category of permitted foods is yogurt - 3 pages.
There is NO MEAT, NO FRESH VEGETABLES listed on this July 2022 sheet.
Greek Yogurt--allows Chobani and Siggi, but not Fage.
Tuna--only chunk light--no expensive Albacore
Fresh & Frozen Fruits and Vegetables are, indeed, on the list (p.10). Voucher cash value. If value exceeded, WIC recipient may pay the difference.
Frankly, it is annoying standing in line behind the welfare shoppers, seeing the most expensive meat cuts, seafood, etc. in their carts.
It’s got beans, rice, cheese, milk, peanut butter, tuna and salmon for proteins.
