The people complaining about poverty in the USA have probably never seen real poverty or oppression.
So many of my mom’s recipes came from a time of great poverty. She lived on the Plains of Colorado during the years of The Dust Bowl followed by The Depression. Times were very tough. Food let alone water was very scarce
The govt gave them nothing. The community figure it out
That’s the generation that fought WWII. There’s a reason we refer to them as The Greatest Generation
