. Anyway that was my Mothers favorite song, by the Beatles, God bless her soul.
Wow
Sounds more authentic than studio version but, I am watching him sing live.
Still a good lick
The last song released by The Beatles.
Yes, but they originally intended “The End” from Abbey Road to be the last song, but since that album got released first, it didn’t work out that way.
“Abbey Road” was the last album the Beatles recorded.
“Let It Be” was the last album the Beatles released.
I really disliked this song and was surprised they could put out something so bad.
Evidently, there was a huge audience for it though.
The original vinyl was better in mono with the clicks and pops.
today we want everything digitally remastered and auto-tuned.
Seriously screw that, and the plastic enhancements too.
I appreciate Live Raw talent and passion.
for example These Girls. they have had a few shows, and they rocked really hard. I remember when Men were not afraid to have long hair and Rock like this.

Me, too.
I thought it was probably about the Catholic Blessed Virgin Mary but McCartney said it was about his mother named Mary. Even creepier, then, for a pop song.
I thought it was about smoking dope, you know, Mary Jane Wanna.
I would say The Beatles put out timeless music until 1966 (The "Revolver" album).
Then it all went to crap. The drugs kicked in and The Beatles were putting out crap like "Yellow Submarine", "OB-La-Di", "Octopus In the Sea", "Rocky Racooon" and well, you get the picture.
Post "Revolver", the Beatles were running on fumes. They broke up in 1970 because they were mostly washed up. George Harrison probably put out the best post-Beatles music, which was a surprise. McCartney put out utter dreck like "Say, Say, Say", "Ebony And Ivory", "Coming Up" and such. He had a few good moments with Wings and Linda. Lennon was utter crap until "Double Fantasy" which he was shot for. Ringo Starr, a few lightweight pop hits but he seemed a pretty nice guy overall.
Yellow Submarine is ON the Revolver album
The beginning of the end.
My mother loved this song too. Born in ‘27 she came up in the Big Band/Swing era.
She also loved Whitney Houston and would have her dentist play WH songs while he worked on her teeth.
Something she feared and hated.
Mom never ceased to surprise me with her appreciation of nice things regardless of their origin.
For decades, I thought this song was about the Blessed Mother, the mother of Jesus.
But then I learned that Paul was having a difficult time in his life, and his late mother, Mary, appeared to him in a dream and told him, “Let it be. Just let it be.”
In those decades everything was supposed to be a veiled drug reference.
Only recently I learned the true story of Crystal Blue Persuasion by Tommy James. Several music sites still conclude without any evidence it meant a drug haze.
James said it was about the Bible’s description of the Hebrews’ experience of the Presence of God in the Temple.
He was inspired by his reading of the book of Ezekiel where it speaks of the Blue Shekinah Light which represented the presence of the Almighty God and the Books of Isaiah and Revelation where it speaks of a bright future of a brotherhood of mankind living in peace and harmony.
