Authorities say other riders who witnessed an alleged sexual assault on a SEPTA train last week "should have intervened." Instead, police say some held up their phones in the direction of the attack. Fiston Ngoy, 35, has been charged with rape, aggravated indecent assault and related counts in the incident.

Philadelphia is very liberal. Liberals want to allow others to express themselves and not interfere. So yes, they all brought up their phones and did videos for their tiktok posts.
This is what happens in Democrat occupied cities when the people fear retaliation from the police more than they fear the other criminals.
If you fight back against criminals in Democrat cities you’re going to go to jail.

I have this recurring nightmare where I come upon a scene where a woman is trapped inside a burning car, and instead of opening the door to try to help her a bunch of idiots are standing there recording her on their cell phones.
In this dream I help her out and cut the seatbelt, then use the cut part to beat them senseless.

There in lies some of the problem.
Knowledge that to intervene may result in your own injury or death. Compounded by in today’s society and legal quagmire, you are as likely to be prosecuted as the assailant for using “excessive force”.
What should they have done? Some recorded the crime as evidence. Did they have a duty to risk their lives? It’s Philly after all.
