Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin was presented with the first report of the year, compiled by a group of experts under the Security Council of the Russian Federation. The analytical forecast of the situation on the front for the president is presented in a gloomy light.

Experts believe that the big offensive that the military-political leadership of Russia is preparing for the end of winter and the beginning of spring this year will not bring significant results, and will only create a large number of problems.

The authors of the report believe that the West and Ukraine are not only aware of the offensive plans, are able to repel it, but are also preparing a large-scale counteroffensive for the end of the spring of this year and this is likely to lead to the collapse of the front and the defeat of Russian troops in the occupied territories.

Data on the supply of offensive weapons by the West to Ukraine speak in favor of the development of this option and leave practically no chance for the victory of the Russian army in this war.

The recommendations of experts in the summary of the report: to withdraw troops from the territory of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, to focus on the defense of the so-called LDNR, and to try to negotiate with the West and Ukraine to reach the demarcation lines on February 23, 2022, followed by a long truce.

Experts consider mobilization useless in a situation of lack of weapons.

Putin, having familiarized himself with the theses and discussed with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, who presented the report, the final part of the report, said that there are other considerations on this matter and it is necessary to act differently.

Putin announced to his close circle a meeting of the Security Council in late January or early February, after which the president is going to address the people of Russia and then make an address to the Federal Assembly, and all this in one day.

The president did not go into details and explanations. Putin's entourage notes that since the New Year, the president has been in a gloomy mood, spending more and more time alone with himself and much less communicating with loved ones.

Attending physicians note the deterioration of the health of the President of Russia.

Kremlin insider. Has been very accurate in the past, including before the war started.

While I think Free Republic is a great site. The ‘they said, he said, she said’ posting of unverifiable information concerning the Ukraine war isn’t my favorite.

Seems like bs to me intended to get people thinking Ukraine is stronger than it is. Troop rotation for Ukraine is getting shorter and shorter (now 4 days after extended fighting).

If we get down to no rotation, troops will start to desert.

Then they’ll sign a peace treaty and the Taiwan war will start.

Nobody really knows, could be a teenage Ukrainian, and he has been predicting Putin’s imminent death for months, and nothing happens.

Some Western analysts have been providing a more accurate picture of the conflict in Ukraine than the general barrage of Western war propaganda. They seem to agree that:

- There is no path for Ukraine to win militarily;
- Russia is nowhere near as incompetent and ill-prepared as the Western media suggests;
- Russia is not seizing territory because it is waging a war of attrition;
- Ukrainian territorial gains may have appeared “spectacular” but came at the cost of huge losses in men and equipment;
- Russia is bolstering both its manpower and defensive positions;
- The loss of Kharkov and Kherson city has actually left Russia in a more advantageous position, more troops on a shorter line of contact;
- Russian forces fighting in Bakhmut seek to grind Ukrainian forces down, not capture the city from them.

After seeing the very forelorn and depressed photos of putin at articles on his lone visit to church for Orthodox X-mas, I posted the comment below. I wonder if this report here is the first steop in his retreating. I saw months ago that he said he was going to step down in March this year.

“Putin does look sad and depressed. Perhaps he is seeking a message from God or Jesus. Perhaps he has gone alone so he can announce he has had a visitation that tells him to withdraw the troops from Ukraine and stop the war. Are Russians believing enough to swallow such a revelation and not want to hang him like Mussolini? If Wagner violated the 36 hour pause, would such a revealed message and action protect him from Prigosin? The next few days should be very interesting for judging his future moves.”

If this report is true I am surprised his military and advisors would be so forthcoming. Fear of flying and all. On the other hand, if Putin really wants to withdraw or retire in March then he could have told them to give all the bad news. The big question is how likely this report is to truly be an accurate one?
