A U.S. investigation into Tesla vehicles operating on partially automated driving systems that have crashed into parked emergency vehicles has moved a step closer to a recall.

OK. First question. Is this statistically significant? I mean is this a statistical anomaly or is it selection bias because we all hate Elon because he started unfixing Twitter.
Oh noes!!
Oversized electric golf kart fanbois are going to be upset with any news their fetish is not sacred.
keep your hands on the wheel, be in control of your vehicle at all times.
if I hit an emergency vehicle or a garbage truck I could not blame it on my car. at the minimum the drivers should be charged with negligent driving.
I’m a Musk fan, but he should shut off that auto drive software awfulness, lest the “blue screen of death” monaker be pulled from Microsoft (the god of awfulness) and transferred to Tesla. As for me, I’m not getting into any vehicle in which virtually all control is on a giant iPad.
You nailed it.
This has absolutely no statistical meaning — none — other than this is a negative story to put out there about Tesla and Musk. We’ve seen how this was done with Trump. Just keep pumping out negative propaganda in order to get everyone to hate you. How many Fords per thousand made were involved in crashes with emergency vehicles? GM?
Complete garbage from the mockingbird media.
One is one too many. Automated driving must work perfectly or it should be banned, completely. I imagine 16 vehicles wrecking into Emergency vehicles is arguably worse than drunk drivers are doing.
Well if you are going to crash into something an emergency vehicle is a pretty good choice.
Statistically meaningless? Admittedly, I don’t have the numbers, but that number looks extremely high for the relatively low number of Teslas on the highways, compared to other vehicles.
Teslas are high dollar vehicles. Drivers generally try to take care of them.
Teslas are not fully self-driving cars. Period. Ignore this at your peril.
Good point.....as long as the rescue crew survives.
It is meaningless without context. As I mentioned, what are the statistics, per thousand built, for Ford, GM, Chrysler (or whoever owns Chrysler now).
Counting Teslas . It surprises me how many goofy Americans can’t figure out what the govt run media is up to. It is so obvious.
Many vehicles operating on full human driving systems have crashed into parked and driving emergency vehicles, also emergency vehicles operating on full human driving systems have crashed into parked and driving emergency vehicles. Same is true for non emergency vehicles.
There needs to be a recall on human drivers.
“One is one too many. Automated driving must work perfectly or it should be banned, completely. “
One is one too many. Humans driving must work perfectly or they should be banned, completely.
Snickering, anything that slows the spread of the EV infection is good by me.
It would be a real shame if folk rebelled against the force fed EV BS. /s
It would be a tragedy, literally, if automated driving systems are banned because they are not perfect, but are safer than comparable human drivers.
There is some real gamesmanship going on here...this is 16 incidents since 2018. The beta fsd didn’t start till late 2020. There wasn’t street level self driving that could keep you in a straight line till 2020...so a lot of this had to be on the freeway?
Tesla owners have got to be the stupidest people.
They do not read the owners manual that says the automated driving is not hands off!!
They lack common sense. They are moving at 40mph or 70mph etc and BAM! everything will happen quickly!!
You cannot take your eyes away from Tik Tok quick enough or wake up from your nap fast enough to take control of the car.
