Yeah, I knew all that. I just wanted to see what you would say.
I would strongly suggest to you, regarding "The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection", that:
- Randall Wallace's script is unfinished, at best, and this is the eighth draft. Despite everyone knowing how the story ends.
- That Lethal Weapon 5 is actually the intended target of this MSM activity in the past week, Mel knowing that the money for "Resurrection" is never coming (30M first time, at least 130M this time).
- The horrible, terrible Fox tv version of LW is still a little too fresh in everyone's mind, that Mel HAS to hit a home run with LW5.
- The good news here - Richard Wenk's LW5 script is finished, and Warner is apparently willing to let Mel run with it as helmer. Crazy. F-----g. World.
- And a home run with LW5 would force an LW6 as long as Glover can hold out (at 76 now).
- Last but best: Mel is on the hook to both direct and star in LW5 with Donner dead. No way does he take on LW5 (and start LW6) in the same year as "Resurrection", particularly if Warner is tent-pole-ing LW5 as Summer/Christmas 2024.
The Good News: Mel's LW5 and LW6 earnings might very well possibly pay for Mel to 'own' "Resurrection" outright, and thus start it after LW6 wraps, with an eye on "Resurrection" release in 2025. Caviezel has a timeless face BUT he already needs to lose some weight, he's a fatty.

I saw the first two Road Warrior movies and actually visited the sites where they were filmed, I never liked the sequels to them. The movie The Passion was deeply moving and I’m looking forward to the Resurrection one.
