Once, in my trucking travels, I was tying down a load on the flatbed at a John Deere plant. A heavy driver near me was doing the same. I commented how the specialized hauling can be a real workout. He told me he switched from reefer (refrigerated van) to stepdeck almost 5 months before. Said he was under 300 as of about 2 weeks back, and said his high had been about 370. His goal was to get down to 250, but was confident he was going to reach less than that in a matter of months.
He said he also eliminated anything deep fried, and that his determination affected his wife. He would be gone a week or two at a time, come home and they would cheerfully compare their weight losses.
