The apricot tree has a poor design. Most fruit trees have a thick trunk, main branches, and thinner branches to support the fruit. But apricot trees are as just as likely as not to have very thin twigs with fruit coming off the trunk or main branches.
Well, they are not called 'drupes' for nothing!............
