I always heard maternal-grandfather. My paternal grandfather was bald. My maternal-garndfather had a head full of white hair before dying at 86 (Muniemaker cigars, hard liquor, home made fried chicken and cheesecake all the way through). My brother and I have full heads of hair. I think that is the better test.

Not necessarily. My father had a full head of hair when he died in his late 80's. However, my mother's four brothers were all bald in their mid-20's. As I was too.

In fact when I met my wife when I was 18, I warned her that I was probably going to be bald by the time I was 25. Turns out not to have been a problem. Said she always had the hots for Yul Brynner.
