Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday congratulated newly-elected Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy and then begged for more foreign aid from the US.
"Congratulations to @GOPLeader on his election as the Speaker of [the United States] House of Representatives," the Ukrainian politician said almost immediately after the Republican leader got the votes he needed from fellow representatives late Friday night. "U.S. support in all fields has been vital for [Ukraine's] success on the battlefield."
