€111k stolen from man in strip club after his drink was spiked

A man has claimed that €111,000 (£98,000) was stolen from his bank account after he had his drink spiked at a strip club in London.

Vanity Bar and Nightclub, Carlisle St, Soho, is now facing closure after a string of incidents at the venue. Police have called for their license to be suspended pending investigation.

Ten men have reported that following visits to the London club they have had a combined £250,000 (€283,500) robbed from their bank accounts.

According to MyLondon, a man who visited the club November 26th 2022 said he woke up on the street near his home with no recollection of how he got there. He said his only memory from the evening was when he visited Vanity and bought a drink.

After he checked his account, more than £19,000 (€21,500) was missing after it was sent to a number of unknown bank accounts.

Nothing good ever happens in a strip club. I was dragged to one of those once when I was in the Marines. It was exactly how I pictured it would be. Dark and sleazy atmosphere. Loud rock music blaring. Lecherous men standing around a stage shoving dollar bills into the cleavage of scantily clad women gyrating in front of them. Young women sitting at the bar pretending to be your girlfriend if you buy a drink for them. So you buy them a drink at full price and the girl gets a glass of colored water with an umbrella in it. The bar makes nearly 100% profit on the non-alcoholic drinks and then splits it with her at the end of the night.

Whole thing is a ripoff. In my opinion, strip club are even more demeaning to the men that frequent them then the girls that work there.

Give me a nice, decent girl to date, I'll take her to a proper restaurant, maybe a movie, and I'll spend just as much money while getting a decent shot for some intimacy with her later.

I suspect most of the clientele at strip clubs are Arab businessmen, the kind who empty the plane’s liquor once the plane leaves Saudi airspace, and head straight for the nudie bar once the plane lands.

You are exactly right. Lots of predators after men at those place, they never miss an opportunity to sniff out a poor dupe and fleece him of his money. I knew a guy who left his wife for a stripper then later hung himself in his mother’s garage when the “love of his life” took him for all that he had and left him.

This sad sack actually had his girlfriend track him to a strip club. She then persuaded the girls there to let her up on stage so that she could do a show, collect some tips from other men, and publicly dump him.
