The first 8 shots could be justified by adrenaline, and the need to stop the threat of an armed criminal. BUT, moving around to the perp’s head to administer the Coup de grâce would be very difficult to justify. It’s best for all of the witnesses and the armed citizen to disappear and remain anonymous.
