“A former PM of an oil-rich Russian region has joined the latest string of elite figures to die in mysterious circumstances. Magomed Abdulayev, a close ally of ex-Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, died after he was hit by a car while crossing a street. Reports suggest that Abdulayev was hit by a Niva car in Dagestan’s Makhachkala city on the Caspian Sea. Ukraine immediately drew a link between Abdulayev’s accident and a succession of other Russian deaths in the past year.”
