Here is the problem. According to the video I saw, the robber had his back to the shooter so the robber “apparently” wasn’t causing an immediate threat of harm.
The shooter shot the robber 3 times in the back.
That ain’t good..
Looked to me like the perp was pointing his weapon and walking straight towards the guy seated just to the left of the door with his hands up.
In Texas you have the right to defend others as well as yourself. I say clean shoot.
Just right.
It looks like a nine, so probably 6 left in the mag, and one in the pipe.
Nice fire discipline.
“According to the video I saw, the robber had his back to the shooter so the robber “apparently” wasn’t causing an immediate threat of harm.”
No such concept exists in the law. Just in western movies.
Looked fine to me.
So we can’t shoot people in the back waving a gun at other people now?
F-him.
Its Texas. He “deserved to die”.
The good guy had no idea what they robber was going to do. The robber wasn’t running out the door, and he could have turned around and started shooting for all the good guy knew. He’s not playing by the same rules as the cops.
This is a slam dunk. No way he’s being charged. BUT, don’t talk to the cops. Nothing you tell them will help you.
Should the robbery victim wait until the armed suspect was facing him with a gun in his hand? You know, to make it a fair gun fight?
C'mon...
Btw, the suspect was pointing his gun right at the patron seated to the left of the door when the suspect was shot.
Doesn’t matter here, laws are far different in Texas
According to the law you can use deadly force to stop someone stealing your newspaper if it’s dark outside-would not recommend though
Guess we all saw a different video. He had his gun pointed at another patron. Defense of an innocent 3rd party is legal and justified.
He could have just as easy turned around and started shooting whites .05 seconds later when the video stops and the shots are fired.
If you walk in on a robbery of say, a convenience store and the robber has a gun on the cashier, you, in Arkansas can shoot him in the back since he poses an imminent threat of deadly force upon another person.
The police should find the shooter and give him keys to the city.
That ain’t good..
I think that part would be the easiest to justify, morally and legally.
I think the biggest issue is the last shot, after Baldy picked up the guy's gun.
