Astonishing moment Marjorie Taylor Greene hands anti-McCarthy Republican a phone with TRUMP on the line as ex-President tried to get rebels including Gaetz to switch votes

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was captured on the House floor late Friday holding up her cell phone with former President Donald Trump on the line.

After the House Republicans' failed 14th vote to elect GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy to the speakership, Greene tried getting Rep. Matt Rosendale to speak with the former president.

'It was the perfect phone call,' Greene tweeted, sharing Bloomberg's photo of the moment, where Trump's initials 'DT' were clearly seen on her iPhone screen.

Rosendale, a Republican from Montana, had yelled out the name of Rep. Andy Biggs during the 14th round of voting.

It’s an overused cliche, but it really is a big club and we’re not in it.

Trump also thinks you should get that RNA shot. He isn’t perfect. It’s not smart to default to everything he says.

The Republicans did not produce an alternative to McCarthy. Trump knew this.

C'mon man...your not supposed to say the quiet parts out loud

The conservatives got 80% of their demands. Even Gaetz admitted on Shammity that he was running out of things to ask for.

Let’s see what happens but in my opinion elections aren’t going to fix what is broken in America.

“The Republicans did not produce an alternative to McCarthy.”

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

There was not one realistic alternative to McCarthy nominated.

Jim Jordan would have been fine, but Jordan supported McCarthy straight down the line. Jordan voted for McCarthy every single vote. Jordan was never in play, at all.

So, for all the talk from The Holdouts, they couldn’t come up with a single member who could get over 20 votes.

Agreed, but that doesn’t negate the rest of my comment. Boebert, Gaetz, Trump, Greene et al are all on the same team.

And when this new Church Committee has witnesses refuse to appear, or the FBI and CIA and Bidens refuse to provide documents, what will they do?
Ask Merrick Garland if he will enforce a contempt of Congress referral?

It’ll go nowhere. But we’ll hear some great speechifying.

Not sure those bios matter since WEF can publish whatever it wants.

The corporate sponsors should be reviewed, along with the govt policies and dollars that benefit those corporations.

And take note of the “trusted” security/firewall companies that are proud members of WEF. And consider the onsite “security” services they’re pushing.

I used to think Trump just got bad advice. Now I am thinking he is a blooming idiot and just can not see the Evil Swamp for what it is.

Gee, thanks President Trump. Appreciate you working so hard to get your swamp buddy in charge........

Oddly enough, I don't think President Trump has demonstrated the ability to really see through the BS and see the REAL person. That explains why he had a number of people in his administration openly stab him in the back.

“Trump made quite a few personnel mistakes when he was president.”

You can try to bring these people into your fold, but many will stab you in the back and repeatedly. What Trump, nor anyone else could do when stepping into the presidency, is bring 2,000 of your closest and most loyal friends with you.

Let’s see how McCarthy repays Trump for the endorsement that secured his Speakership. The concessions McCarthy made puts him on a very short leash.

Now, how to rid ourselves of Mr. McConnell...

This ended up being about concessions.

Now I guess the feet need to be held to the fire and see what they do verses what they say.

Possibly because we were getting so close to the Democrats making a deal with RINOs to get a Democrat Speaker sworn in?

What McCarthy should do..if it hasnt gone way past the personal hatred, is to form a special investigative committee to go after Pig Face BIDET for extortion and racketeering while he was VP and his son, and brother, for a slew of other crimes.

Appoint Gaetz as the lead investigator and the others onto that committee.

Keep them busy.

“Even Gaetz admitted on Shammity that he was running out of things to ask for.”

Bottom line, the demands were small potatoes, the one one demand they would never get satisfied was a leader who is trustworthy. McCarthy will still work against MAGA. You will never ONCE see him fight as hard against democrats and the neocons as hard as he fought against us.

I appreciate the anti-McCarthyites holding out as long as they did - and hopefully winning some concessions. And there was no harm in trying - I certainly don’t mind “chaos” - Congress being at a stand-still is fine with me.

But this was not about Trump’s poor judgment - this was about realism:

MTG, Trump and others knew McCarthy had the numbers on his side - he was always going to prevail. The swamp needs to be drained - but a futile attempt to get a MAGA Speaker is not the way.

The way to drain the swamp is for voters to replace 150 RINOs with MAGA Representatives. Trying to get a MAGA Speaker when there is only a handful of MAGA Representatives was always a pipe dream.

“Not MTG’s greatest moment.”

I think MTG, Gaetz and Trump were all chess pieces on the same side of the board doing everything they could to maximize the MAGA agenda with McCarthy.
