Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was captured on the House floor late Friday holding up her cell phone with former President Donald Trump on the line.
After the House Republicans' failed 14th vote to elect GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy to the speakership, Greene tried getting Rep. Matt Rosendale to speak with the former president.
'It was the perfect phone call,' Greene tweeted, sharing Bloomberg's photo of the moment, where Trump's initials 'DT' were clearly seen on her iPhone screen.
Rosendale, a Republican from Montana, had yelled out the name of Rep. Andy Biggs during the 14th round of voting.

” I don’t think President Trump has demonstrated the ability to really see through the BS and see the REAL person.”
Sadly, he’s always been overly influenced by appearance. At rallies, he’ll often pick out very attractive people in the audience. He’ll say they’re “right out of central casting”. Or those ladies look like they’re wealthy (or have wealthy husbands).
McCarthy has good hair.
“they would never get satisfied was a leader who is trustworthy. “
Yes; that’s the bottom line. And you can’t negotiate good character and trust. Like grace, either you have it or you don’t.
Trump is much more likely to try to sabotage Republicans with a third party candidacy than to settle for the number two slot on a DeSantis ticket, if you ask me. He’s been fanning the flames of that possibly himself just recently.
Trump once again stirs rumors that he could run as a third-party candidate and split the Republican vote if party turns on him

Trump might run as third-party candidate if Republicans don’t back him for President
Trump Appears to Threaten Third Party Run to Split Republican Party in Half
The Art of the Deal….that’s how its done.
ROFL!
Desantis is the answer to these snakes.
************
He isn’t the answer, he’s one of them.
The proper way to look at United States government is “they’re all establishment.”
DeSantis is there so the conservative wing of the party has someone to vote for in the primaries.
If he wins prepare to be disappointed, if he loses......
“If we had elected DeSantis we would’ve had a real conservative in there.”
Let's face it. Trump probably isn't going to be the nominee in 2024, especially if the same players are in charge next time around. Will they let McDaniel stay as RNC head too? And will Trump end up endorsing her too? There's too many unknowns here. And the DOJ and Special Counsel will commit crimes in order to to keep Trump off the ballot. Who is going to stop them?
Very true
That's easy. I don't watch news on any platform because I don't trust any of them, nor do I need them to filter the news for me. FR is the only thing I do on the internet. I don't do any social media. You can't trust any of them, nor the majority of politicians. I've been around long enough to learn that you can never take anything at face value, and must question everyone, and everything. I don't know what Trump's motivations were for endorsing McCarthy. He's definitely not trust-worthy. Ask McCarthy's wife.
You’re not alone.
She will end up being sorry she was mesmerized by McCarthy. I don't see good things happening for her in her Congressional career, nor for it being a long one.
I will be backing DeSantis.
Rosendale voted present though.
I wonder how many swamp members are trying to stirr things up online after everything that happen this week... they seem to crawl out to fan the flames of discontent whenever Maga is not in agreement... we got everything that we needed. Whom ever got the job was going to be a creature of the swamp. the best we could do was continue on blocking everything for two years or limiting the power of the speakership... two years of no speaker would of ended with a republican MAGA wipe out...dont let hard feelings about the fight get in the way of doing the buisness at hand... I am verry proud of everyone but now is the time to govern for the house and that means working when possible with those we would rather not be in congress.
Hardly. He's been in Congress for 16 years. What did he do as House Republican Chief Deputy Whip, House Majority Whip, House Republican Majority Leader, Leader of the House Republican Conference, and House Republican Minority Leader that qualified him to be Speaker? He was passed over for House Speaker in 2015, actually dropped out of the race, because he committed adultery for five years with Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.). Ellmers lost her seat in 2016, and was unsuccessful in winning it back in 2022. I question his relationship with Marjorie Taylor Greene. The guy isn't trustworthy at all. He was all for allowing Liz Cheney to keep her leadership seat, and he was taped telling Cheney he was going to talk to Trump about resigning after January 6th. That's about his only accomplishments during his time in Congress.Snakes shed their skin, but they don't shed their patterns. Kevin McCarthy is a snake.
And that is why the Republican Party will never be reformed from within, or without. People will hold their nose and vote for a piece of crap, just to keep the seat Republican.
Not astonishing.
“People will hold their nose and vote for a piece of crap, just to keep the seat Republican.”
People didn’t vote for McCarthy. 216 Congressmen did. There was no serious alternative put forth. It was a CF.
Dogs may bark but the circus moves on.
