Agree.
Back to grifting, as usual, in a matter of days/weeks.
All on the backs of We the Taxpayer.
We have to see what the details and what hold-outs got in the end but I feel there’s a few wins there, don’t you?
I have heard that the “concessions” are a “framework.” They are not written in stone.
Are we going to see any true change in the House in the next 2 years?
Perhaps some investigations...
Don’t forget, they ceded the financial constraints to dems via Omnibus bill.
They vote on these rules AFTER Speaker is elected.
I hope he doesn’t betray them
Can someone update / ping if you find out the details of what they got?
All we have is what The Hill are saying and that’s not 100% reliable is it...
None of this will make it past the rules vote ... suckers.
Yeah you don’t ever believe them after that.
McCafhy will never get anything done except what he is paid to do by special interests.
Constrained?
He’s gop left and Republicans don’t know how to fight against left Lawlessness
“”I recall how Reagan handled himself shortly into his first term as he tried to follow through on his economic agenda and tax reform. When questioned by a reporter about whether he was abandoning his principles and campaign promises, Reagan replied, “There are some people who would have you stand on principle that if you don’t get all that you’ve asked for from the legislature, you jump off the cliff with the flag flying. I have always figured that half a loaf is better than none and I know that in the democratic process, you’re not always going to get what you want.””
The Freedom Caucus got the concessions they asked for with the exception of replacing McCarthy. I consider that a half a loaf. Now they just have to ensure that McCarthy follows through with his commitments. If not, now you can call for a non-confidence vote.
He’ll probably “recuse” himself today or perhaps he’ll just “resign”.
We still have two problems to overcome
The Speaker is the Gatekeeper, and decides what goes to the floor for debate and vote.
People will always find a way to corrupt a Politician. Folks sat McCarthy is a super star fundraiser. The funders expect a return from the Fundee (McCarthy) McCarthy, and other Politicians, sell their office and country.
It’s one thing for the local Car Dealer or McDonalds franchise owner to fund a Politician. It’s a completely different matter, and huge piles of money, when a Globalist company, or oil Sheik, buys your Speaker of the House
Agreed, power of the purse is all they have.
I hoped for a Speaker that will block the debt ceiling increase, effectively blocking the spending bill.
Seems they sit on their thumbs, then panic sets in, gotta raise the ceiling!
No ceiling is fine, Government is too big, live within your means, lower Citizen tax burden
Who cares if the concessions are in writing? He’s a politician. That’s the most hilarious part about all this. Politicians demanding other politicians make promises, and then believing them!! BWAHAHAHAHA
Schiff and the Democrats can’t understand why anybody would vote to weaken their Emperor. Power-worshippers like them never will understand the reason.
I agree, also. But the real work is done in the committees and I think there is hope for action there.
If “constrained” = wimpiness, then it’s true.
On War Room, Mike Davis said that now Kevin is Gaetz’ bitch. (He didn’t say “bitch”; I can recall the exact word.)
And, since Trump whipped the votes for KM, I guess Kevin now is Trump’s bitch, too. That could come in real handy when PDJT wins in 2024 (hopefully).
