Yesterdog off Wealthy St in EastTown Grand Rapids has been pleasing a long time. I recall movies at the Easttown Theater there always went better with a meal from Yesterdog. Corner Bar in Rockford, MI pretty good too.
Ketchup is always forbidden, geez.
Oh gosh are they still around? I are there once several years ago. I am 30 minutes away but almost never go right downtown. I like the Costco dogs. You can actually buy a large package of the all beef ones and I also was able to get buns there. We got them for a potluck and everyone loved them. I always have them on hand in the freezer.
Like those too.
Boar’s Head - with a smidge of mustard on a bun -— OR under some home made chili.

To start with, an ordinary bun is replaced with a “bolillo bun”, which is shaped like and the size of a large sweet potato. Split down the middle it forms a trough, which you need for a proper Sonora Hot Dog.
The hot dog meat is wrapped in Hickory smoked bacon before grilling.
The condiments (all optional): Mayo, mustard, ketchup, Sriracha, sour cream, many kinds of salsas and picantes, pico de gallo (uncooked salsa), all kinds of hot sauces. Melted cheeses, chopped and sliced hot peppers of several kinds. Many people put meat chili on top.
Four different kinds of onion: fresh, sweated, fried, caramelized. Crushed potato chips, cooked and refried pinto and black beans, chopped tomato and tomatillo.
By tradition, a grilled green Hatch chili pepper is on the side. Copious amounts of beer are helpful to wash it all down, and fasting for a week after will burn off the calories.
But when I was at UGA, there was a hot girl who had a Sabrett's cart in front of the Journalism building across from Park Hall. Still buy Sabrett's to this day out loyalty to whoever she was.
The best hotdogs rely on their own flavor/meat. In other words I eat mine on a bun plain! Cheap hotdogs need garbage on top to mask the cheapness.
Best dog? Served at the Cleveland Indians game in the 80’s.
Onions and mustard. Heaven.
Use to go to the games just for their dogs!!!
Tampa Resident here and I agree!
Sara’s Restaurant on Peninsula Dr. in Erie, Pa. serves some of the best hot dogs I have eaten.
If you’re hungry for a hot dog in Las Vegas, Nev. and are not put off by the seediness of Fremont Street, the once glamourous main drag of Downtown, check out the American Coney Island hot dog shop, a Detroit-based doggery.
