Best wishes for this hero.
This reminds me of Joe Delaney. He tried to help some drowning kids in a Amusement Park pool. Joe couldn’t even swim he drown to death. But he saved some kids. However, one died in the hospital and another drown with Joe. Joe Delaney was a running back with the Kansas City Chiefs for two seasons during 81-83.
He passed on June 29th of 1983. He also played at northwestern. It’s nearly 40 years since tragic drowning. Posthumously he was elected into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Pensacola = Gulf of Mexico ... no waves ...
Quick story- we have condo’s in Cocoa Beach, Florida. There was a nasty rip tide that pulled a girl out. Her father, who was really overweight, went out to save her but couldn’t get back in.
My 20YO nephew and another stranger went out and pulled them back in. The father almost immediately collapsed of a heart attack on the beach after being pulled in and died. It was a horrible scene.
Eventually one of the family members came up and thanked my nephew and the stranger, saying if they hadn’t gone out there the father and daughter would’ve drowned.
Can’t blame the vaccine for this one.
Incredible news: former #Browns RB Peyton Hillis has been discharged from the hospital after saving his kids from drowning.
Welcome home, hero.
