It used to be my Tagline: Socialism/communism will always be popular as long as people think they can get something for nothing.
Also, the 60s hippies set out to change the world, and they have, but for the worse, much worse.
My dad, as I mentioned, is 80. He lived through the 50s-60s…etc.
He says it was almost a palpable change. Everyone was happier in the 50s (well almost) and were proud. After the hippie movement he said it’s been going down hill since.
Yet from what I’ve read the hippies were not really the cause more of a symptom of the illness. The illness of course being the subversion by socialists in the 30s-40s and early 50s until McCarthy NEARLY wiped them out. However anyone will tell you that with vermin if you leave even a small nucleus they will rebuild their numbers and come back. Mice, termites, fleas, lice or communists.
