I had a friend in NYC years ago who believed he was a virtuous person because he gave money to bums on the street.

I suggested to him that he was enabling their drug habit by giving them money and he was dumbfounded.

When he eventually collected his wits, he asked, "what are you suggesting I do then?"

I responded that charitable contributions are wonderful but you have to dig beneath the surface of a charity if you want to determine if such a gift is virtuous or wasteful...or worse, destructive.

I call the “Carbon Credits” pushed by Gaia worshipers the selling of Green Indulgences. That’s exactly what they are.
