Ah yes! I remember buying and listening to Brain Salad Surgery when I was a teenager. The album art was the best, as was Karn evil 9 and Benny the Bouncer.

But their Jerusalem was my introduction into William Blake. I actually went to the library and read Blake's The Complete Illuminated Books. I then hounded my college town bookstore to get me a copy, and spent my minimum wage salary for it.

I thought I was something of an artist then and tried to draw angels, demons and other heavenly figures Blake style.

BTW, I always thought Benny got a bad deal. Sid was a murdering thug!

I'm a big ELP fan and their version is riveting.

But in all candor, NOTHING beats the Monty Python version. Skip ahead to 3:18 and 4:18 to hear them sing, but the full sketch is worth it if you like their humor.
