A 40-year-old Colorado woman is lucky to be alive after she plunged 200 feet down a trail in California’s San Gabriel Mountains during a Christmas Eve hike.
Ruth Woroniecki, of Thornton, had left her campground in Lytle Creek to hike up to Cucamonga Peak and was making her way back when she took the terrifying tumble...
Another hiker spotted the badly injured woman and contacted authorities...Using crampons and an ice ax, the hiker reached Woroniecki and stayed with her along with other hikers until rescuers arrived to hoist her to safety...
Woroniecki suffered a serious head injury and a fractured neck.
Officials said Woroniecki was wearing tennis shoes and did not have ice-climbing equipment on the perilous trek.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Woroniecki underwent her first surgery on Tuesday and was in stable condition.

Cucamonga used to be a wide spot in the road on Rte. 66 in the middle of Southern California’s wine country. Now, most of the vineyards are long gone as Cucamonga has become an upscale exurb of LA.
““Ruth Woroniecki”
Hmmm...”
What is “Hmmmm” about that name?
A odd thing to post.
Make that “Ruth Brokeherniecki”

I was hoping someone would help. Not exactly “Smith” or “Jones”.
Cucamonga is where Frank Zappa got his start.

I remember Daffy Duck as railroad conductor announcing the stop.
“Two days prior to the incident, Ruth organized an effort to help the homeless on Skid Row. She acquired and assembled packets of blankets and essentials, food, socks, gloves, and other items,” she wrote.
“We distributed the packets and spent time as we often do around the world, bringing these items to individuals in need and sharing the love and compassion of Jesus with them,” she explained.
Sarah said her sis “is no ordinary person.”
“She is one of the kindest, most sincere, and most loving people you will ever meet. She has dedicated her life to helping others and spends all of her time in this country, or many third-world countries, in orphanages, hospitals, on the streets, homes for the elderly, juvenile detention centers, and prisons,” she wrote.

“Have you ever hiked the Andes?”
Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
Reasons Why People Answer Questions With a New Question:
Many people have accidentally answered a question with a question, and some have even done it on purpose.
There are a few reasons why you would do this, which we’ve outlined here:
To Steer the Conversation in Circles
To Avoid Answering the Question
You Didn’t Hear the Question the First Time (i.e., “What?”)
Shifting The Conversation Away from Problematic Questions
Yeah, when I think Colorado, I think switched on, intelligent, on the ball. There are a gigantic number of libtards there.
Must have identified as a cat on her way down.
I’m thinking more of the way she was dressed and hiking with tennis shoes on in ice and snow................
LOLOL!!

Seems to me that you want to compare life experiences.
She’s 40 not 20. It’s cool she was out hiking instead of loafing. She should have been adventuring with hubby and better equipped.
