I sort of agree with you. Due to our apathy (as a general statement), we have allowed the government, which our Founding Fathers initially set up to work for the citizens, to turn into a massive self-serving bureauracy with tentacles wrapped tightly around our media, academia, and even entertainment industry.

We are at the point where politicians can vote themselves massive payraises right under our noses with impunity while rasing taxes on us to pay for them. We are at the point where they can manipulate elections to ensure that only the "right" people get into their club.

Is it hopeless?

I am not ready to say that yet. We need to get more citizens angry about what is going on. We need to break the stranglehold of the media that has been suppressing what is really going on in this country.

The recent change of ownership at Twitter is a step in the right direction, provided that Elon Musk continues on the path of making it a true free speech platform.

Many people underestimate the power of social media to inform the citizenry of what our "ruling masters" want to suppress.

So step one...get more citizens informed and get them ANGRY.
