Does she even want it back at all, considering where the ring has been all this time? Maybe better to pawn that “toilet ring” and buy another piece of jewelry, fresh and clean, worthy of touching with one’s bare skin.

Would be in perfect condition, just need cleaning a little and rinse in pure alcohol, good as new................

I assure you that one of the hardest substances on earth, diamond, can be soaked in bleach and boiled in water, along with its gold or platinum setting, and suffer no ill effects. It will emerge completely clean and sanitized.
