I remember Chuck Hughes collapsing on the field back in 1971, and the image of Butkus standing over him.
I hate that this makes me think of it.
The ambulance is off the field.
This just may be the event that causes a MASS awakening. There are already many cracks in the dam. What an amazing and terrifying world we live in these days.
Going to continue the game???Wrong, very wrong.
really it should just be called off....sorry fans....but how can you expect these guys to play a game when a team mate might have just left this world....
When Chuck Hughes collapsed, that was with about a minute left in the game, I think they continued until the end.
Re: 98 - you have NO idea what the cause is. Other than he took a hard hit to the chest.
They have to call the game. Either a double-forfeit or reschedule for Friday.

Temporarily suspended.
Game temporarily suspended.
Re: 95 - concur. That can cause problems. Lacrosse players can also be susceptible to such injuries if hit with a ball in that area.
I hope they both agree to end the game. Let the entire league figure out how to score this later. Give the rest of the teams a voice in how to proceed.

Reschedule forThursday night.
One of broadcasters said they were giving him oxygen. If true wouldn’t he have to be breathing on his own
This man took an upper cut to the chin. At least from the one replay shown. I fear his block got knocked of. I don’t think it was chest as someone else posits.
It had nothing to do with vaxes. The man was clearly hit badly. Direct cause of injury.
I doubt they show a replay but it didn’t look like a bad hit and he jumped right up and then went backward legs not even bending. Like a log falling over.
If you get any kind of trauma in the chest area when your heart is in between a beat, it can lead to an arrythmia. I’ve heard of it happening to a baseball player when they got hit by a pitch in the chest, it’s literally a ‘one in a million’ shot, but it does happen.
-PJ
They said they were administering CPR, but I certainly hope they had a defibrillator there, if my theory about arrythmia is true.
If they were giving CPR as they are saying on MNF, then his heart was stopped.
