some weather maps forcast this will affect British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and down into most of California. This could end up as snow or sleet in the northern reaches.

The Left creates new terms and words about ordinary things to instill fear into us so that we may run to them for protection and salvation.

Bombogenesis is my new fave Weather Word. Oooh, scary.

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. In the 1960s I remember nonstop rain in November and December some years. In the 1970s there were some drought years. Also, in the 1970s, it was so cold it snowed in the Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Redwood City area (with the snow maintaining on the ground). Global Cooling was all the rage. Global Cooling morphed into Global Warming. It ceased warming, so Climate Change was created, then Climate Crisis. I could probably write a Grant Request, and title it Globull Crisis, and the wackos would fund it as long as I promised to predict doom and gloom.

while we removed dams to mitigate and capture this resource, nope...it’s all going to be flushed to the ocean.

Man Made Droughts....

But - But - But, I thought the fear was from that ‘Globull warming’ and the oceans rising and the Polar Bears starving and the Emperor penguins dying and the deserts drying up.

What’s so wrong with calling it a rainstorm rather than these new ominous sounding terms the neo-pagans conjur up to create fear and anxiety of global warming?

The six weeks snow cover and deep freeze just ended here in North Idaho. Temps are in the 40s and we’ve had a steady day of rain with more to com. The foot of snow on the ground is melting away quickly.

There’s been a huge system moving off the Pacific.

Already started here in Reno. 40 degrees and rain up to around 7500 ft elevation. Then ugly slushy Sierra Cement type snow. Hmmmm. Have they named the event yet? The Pineapple Pond Provider? Got ponding in my yard. The water eventually ends up in the Truckee river and then on to Pyramid lake. Boats sometime ply the waters there so does that make my ponds part of the navigable water way rules? 😯😎👍 Happy New Year!

Since when did atmospheric rivers have categories attached to them? Is this another Weather Channel fad of name winter storms like hurricanes?
