Tom Cruise didn’t lose any...
Part of their arrogance emanates from their presumption of a monopoly.
But it is foolish and arrogant to assume that customers will swallow their pride and turn up.
This is why the media is all suffering losses: people don’t like to pay to be insulted and talked down to.
But an oasis of hope emerged in this desert of self-righteousness.
Top Gun: Maverick grossed $718 million in the United States only and $770 million worldwide, making it the best-selling film of the year.
Why did the film work?
Because the makers were solely focused on entertaining their audiences. There were no lectures or forced agendas. Instead the focus was on the valor of the armed forces. The makers of the film and its star Tom Cruise also refrained from engaging in any political messaging during its promotion.
Recently Cruise released a video expressing gratitude for the success of his film.
“...thank you for allowing us to entertain you. It truly is the honor of a lifetime,” were his exact words.
Always good news when the propagandists take in the rear...
RE: Tom Cruise didn’t lose any...
Tom Cruise actually THANKED the audience at the beginning of the Fil: TOP GUN: MAVERICK.
Tom Cruise was behaving like an old-fashioned movie star. He focused on entertaining and delivered a superlative product. When the audience supported him with their hard-earned money he was humble.
Hopefully the success of Top Gun: Maverick has taught Hollywood some valuable lessons.
WE SHALL SEE.
L.A. is a self-contained insane asylum .
Very sad.
Well that’s a shame......
Agree about Top Gun and Cruise. Not crazy about him overall because of his strong Scientology connections but he is a very smart business man and a very hard worker. Top Gun put movie theaters back in business. It was a good movie and all the things you listed. Tom Cruise is too smart to bite the hand that feeds him—the Thank You was evidence of that.
I watched Maverick in the theater. First one I’ve seen in years.
Cruise is almost always money.
His next two Mission Impossible movies will be blockbusters as well.
He’s also going to do a movie/documentary and is going to the ISS.
“Oh, sure, we lost a good half a trill, but Barack and Michelle really like us! They said so!”
Too bad…but the RATS keep winning at the ballot box…hmmmm…why could that be?
I think 4 out of every 10 people there are mental cases to some degree.
Most movies made after 2000 have a hidden, WOKE message.
$ 500 billion. That’s quite a lick.

Oppenheimer might be interesting. Mission Impossible should be all right for a popcorn flick (Tom Cruise is a reliable performer). Others? Not sure.
I don’t think they’ll change. They’re in too deep.
It’s almost every commercial, tv show, and movie.
ESG is just another level of stupid as well.
Evil Dead Rise (Single Mom replaces Ash)
Blasphemy!
Oppenheimer, Dune, Wick, and MI I will watch.
I saw the first 1/2 Dune movie on an airplane. It was really good. Made me want to reread the book.
