I am probably getting an electric bike in the spring.
Something to get around my small town.
But I will never get an electric car.
We have a 2008 Camry Hybrid. We didn’t buy it for gas milage or to save the planet but at 230k miles, my son still gets 30+ mph and the car ran great in the super storm we just had.
Almost 10 years ago we put a geothermal system in our old home. The federal rebates made the price about the same as going with a conventional heat pump with oil backup, like we had before. No problems with the system but the promised savings were a fantasy. The improvement was 5%, if that.
Good idea. If your bike battery dies before you get home, you just resume your route by either pedaling or walk your bike home. If your car battery dies, you will not have these options.
