Who was actually brave enough to take some of this video footage? I would not have been.

That is a scary video. And for those experiencing that with no power, it is horrible.

Notice how the reporter attributed the weather conditions to global warming.

Interesting. People are dyeing in the storm, while others are out surfing in it....

Jez-o-Pete.

I can’t even imagine that.

Back in ‘67 Chicago had about 2 1/2 feet of snow that drifted major.

Snowed us in until we ran out of food.

My Dad organized the other Dad’s to shovel a path out, get orders from all the neighbors and walk miles pulling sleds to get groceries.

After that we became food hoarders. (stocked up even more on food when Xiden destroyed our gas supply.)

Prayers for the people of Syracuse.

It's a "balmy" 21° here in York (PA), after a -3° last night.

Pretty nasty stuff.

I’m in northern Illinois, and we had some snow — nothing remarkable, though — and it has been very cold; but we didn’t get the type of conditions that western NY got hit with.

"Warmer today 10 deg, still brutal."

We had it pretty easy, Here in south central Ohio, compartivly speaking.

Very little snow and temps, for a day or so, were -4*f.. But that wind was a bear.!! We had ice covering half of one wall in the dinning room. BBBRRRR...!

I lived there for 15 years. Got stranded in a blizzard in Buffalo with 2 little kids - we were headed for Cleveland. Survived and we moved to Florida 3 months later. Best move ever !

Syracuse is a pit.

Wasn’t ALL THE SNOW going to be gone by 1995...2005....2015...they keep predicting “The End of Snow & Ice” as it gets colder and colder.

The next Little Ice Age, and then the long Ice Age, are coming, and there is nothing we can do but adapt.

The comments regarding things being worse with global warming are completely untrue.

I’ve lived between Edinboro and Erie over the last 3 winters and the local say snow was much worse years ago. We only had 125 or so inches last year and the last three years have all been well below average. Everyone has the equipment to move the snow so it is not that big of a deal.

This latest even is more about the brutal wind and bitter cold. We probably had a low of minus 10 but with 30+ mph winds it was north pole cold. Quite unusual.

The Lake Erie snow machine is an impressive aspect of nature.
It was so cold and the wind to strong that a relatively small reservoir lake here in Indiana was causing lake effect precip on the downwind side.
