Involuntarily celibate??? You mean people who can’t find love??? People who don’t want to pay for sex or force someone into sex??? Who created that word? Certainly not someone in a loving situation. And why is it used as a slur? The only people I have seen use it are people with apparent mental issues.

1. The media has convinced them that unless they can get a woman who is exceedingly beautiful, then they would be a loser for settling for less. Better to stay single than to suffer the indignity of having an ugly girlfriend or wife.
2. No matter how wonderful (or even just acceptable) that a particular woman seems to be, eventually she will turn on the guy. She will marry him, have a baby or two, and then divorce him and take half his wealth which she'll share with her lesbian girlfriend or cougar-loving chads. 3. Most guys are sluts. Dating apps have made it easy for the top ten percent of guys to grab all the nookie. This makes it near impossible for an average dude to get the attention of women with average, or even below average looks. If you don't have at least five of the six sixes, then you will be swiped left or else doomed to an endless series of dates going nowhere except providing an endless series of women with free meals.
Since sex is no longer about building long-term physical bonds between married men and women, or about bringing new souls into the world then trivial aspects like looks and willingness to get "freaky" will trump traditional reasons for dating and developing relationships.
Since millennials have worse job prospects, baby boomers have all the cash and prestige, and people are more materialistic in general, young women are more likely to end up with older men leaving millennial men in the lurch.

Incel is used to describe guys who do not seem to be able to get a woman interested in getting into a relationship with him, whether because he’s unattractive, on the autism spectrum, low income, or some combination.
It is a term of contempt used by feminists against some men. Meanwhile they would be highly offended if the term was used to describe a woman who was similarly unable to get a suitable man.

The term was apparently started some time ago by a woman in Canada who could not get somebody to go to bed with her. She just wanted to share her experiences (or lack thereof) with others on the internet who were under the same circumstances. “Incel” at that time was a neutral or benign term.
But then something happened. The term was taken over by these gruesome misogynists who were full of mental and emotional poison. Incel thus became a malignant term that these people used to describe themselves. They congregated on 8chan and other forums. They hate women because they cannot get sex. That’s it. They must be stopped.
