I read the transcript of Zelinsky's speech. There wasn't no language even hinting at a "demand" for billions. Rather, he sounds like the leader of a nation that had war declared on it by an enemy of the US, is thanking the legislature that gave him billions, and is asking for more money.

At the same time, he could have at least put on a suit and tie when asking for a zillion dollars. And while we're at it, I'm against foreign aid on Constitutional grounds...if Americans feel passionately about the Ukrainian situation, they can Venmo Zelinsky directly.

What has happened, is that many alleged conservatives - full of anger over 2020, the pandemic, the shots, and other nonsense - have failed to realize that you can concurrently hate the Russian government and their declaration of war on a sovereign nation AND consider the Ukraine the victim but not want our government to send them a dime or weapons or soldiers.
