Government killed the cheap pickups with safety and emission requirements. Of course, the manufactures didn’t mind.

Vacation homes. They used to be small, spartan cabins that different families could use each for a week or two each summer.

Now they're McMansions, a financial vehicle, that sit unoccupied except for a few weekends when the kids use them.

Waffle House hasn’t gone “foodie.” Food there might currently be more expensive because of inflation, but not because the “rich” eat there.

“Soccer moms killed them.”

And then they vote for the ‘New Green Deal’.

” And, frankly, there were a lot of mexicans buying there too. “

They’re looking for children’s clothes.

15. "Lobster. At one point, this shellfish was considered to be 'cockroaches of the sea.'"

I'm in my 50s and lobster has been pretty much a higher end food as far back as I can remember. In High School I took an elective Civil War History class. The teacher made us choose a role as a USA or CSA soldier at the beginning of the semester and during the class we had to research and write letters home from whatever battle or campaign we were learning about at the time.

In some of my research I came across a note about cheap lobster being served to soldiers. I wrote a letter "home" complaining about being served canned lobster.

Only time in my life I complained about lobster and it was purely fictional :-)

Rich people did none of this. Supply and demand did what it always does.

“We have to buy it NOW or else it will either be unavailable or be higher. Seems like the same thing happened to the Weimar Republic. I wonder what ever became of that.”

It caused quite a furor.

A regular pickup truck for work or the farm. Soccer moms killed them.

I know. I'm nursing my '96 F150 along, hoping it lasts as long as I do. Can't buy one with a manual trans anymore.

Rich people eat at the Roach Coach?

Since they’ve become trendy. They’re all the rage.

There are some food trucks in my area that have delicious food. And they haven’t gotten pricey. At least not yet.

A lot of the gripe about used things are because of eBay.

You can find a collector who will pay top dollar there. And that is what people use to set their pricing. I run into this a lot. People bring in books they are sure are worth a hundred bucks and when I offer them ten they have a melt down. They do not realize that the book on line is a first edition, first printing with dust jacket that was kept carefully out of the sunlight.

Their copy, not a first edition without dust jacket and the spine is so faded you can not even make out the lettering is worth a bit less.

It's from Buzzzfeed. In two days a new list will be "People are Sharing Things that Men Have Ruined for Everyone Else", then after that "People are Sharing Things that Boomers Have Ruined for Everyone Else", then "People are Sharing Things that Capitalists Have Ruined for Everyone Else", all the way to "People are Sharing Things that Americans Have Ruined for Everyone Else".

Women, socialists, and non-Americans seemingly never get the Buzzfeed treatment.

The town I live in on the Florida Gulf coast was known as a poor mans place by the beach. You could buy a lot and place a small house or trailer house and have a home or vacation spot. But now, the cheapest lot will be 300-400k and the development restrictions have gotten so strict that a home will cost $300 per sift at the lowest end.

Rant about the high cost of everything. Blame the dems on their rampant spending.

The rich people complain that the rest of us ruin things for them. There was a big ruckus this year about the rabble being allowed into luxury airport lounges because they had flown enough miles to get in.

blame the price of trucks on LIBERALS, not the rich!

fuel standards eliminated the 2 door three-passenger truck. Now the smallest trucks are 4 door and thus cost much more.

6. “Coastal property”

My buddies grandfather bought a beach house in the late 60’s on Cape Cod and payed hardly anything for it.
Before JFK property on the Cape was cheap.
Now it’s worth in the millions.

Like this article mentioned i always wondered how much his parents now pay for property tax every year..

Soccer moms killed them.

No, your federal government, under the orders of politicians you elected, killed the station-wagon. Trucks and SUVs are the replacement. To HELL with the EPA!
