Hong Kong CNN — Almost 250 million people in China may have caught Covid-19 in the first 20 days of December, according to an internal estimate from the nation’s top health officials, Bloomberg News and the Financial Times reported Friday.
If correct, the estimate – which CNN cannot independently confirm – would account for roughly 18% of China’s 1.4 billion people and represent the largest Covid-19 outbreak to date globally.
The figures cited were presented during an internal meeting of China’s National Health Commission (NHC) on Wednesday, according to both outlets – which cited sources familiar with the matter or involved in the discussions....
...The figures are in stark contrast to the public data of the NHC, which reported just 62,592 symptomatic Covid cases in the first twenty days of December....
....How the NHC came up with the estimates cited by Bloomberg and the Financial Times is unclear, as China is no longer officially tallying its total number of infections....

Chinese numbers are always suspect. They have extreme motivation to give the people who are above them the numbers they want to hear.
ANd 99% of all US Media fallis into the category at the end of your reply : Commies
250 million cases in 20 days. Wow, that is some fast spread.
The world was sure better off before man got “smart” enough to tamper with genes. This is a precursor to something much bigger and far worse to come.
How many of those US deaths were caused by FDA mandated malpractice…NO early treatment, denial of right to even try IVM or HCQ, remdesivir and ventilators?
What a shame. They should all be quadruple vaxxesd.
More propaganda either to get us to mask and vax here in the USA or to discredit China as an economic competitor.
This is not real news it is spin from the Big Government-Big Media Complex that constantly colludes to push agendas and destroy enemies real or imagined.
More psychological warfare to induce more suicidal behavior in the West.
