In a clearly illegal act, Democrats in the US House of Representatives released President Trump’s tax returns to the public this week.
But, as we all well know, Democrats are above the law in the United States.
The Democrats fought to obtain President Trump’s taxes for years. This was not because President Trump committed any crime. It was because Democrats wanted to dig through his returns to possibly find something they could use as fodder for their next attack.
The Democrats released Trump’s tax returns and what was expected to be a monumental takedown of the 45th President ended up being another reason to support the man.
Trump’s personal wealth declined after he entered public office. In fact, Trump may be the first prominent politician in history to see his income decline after entering office.

I would prefer a Select Committee subpoena and release the Tax Returns of EVERYBODY in Government, then hold hearings on Profiteering in Government starring every Prominent Demonrat in Congress and the Executive Branch.

Presidents have been releasing their tax returns voluntarily for decades. Trump’s resistance to releasing his is the exception, not the rule. I don’t understand why he’s making such a big fuss about releasing his. The Democrats have made political hay over his resistance, which cost his campaign money, for filing lawsuits. And being the odd man out makes him look shifty, when it’s been picked over by the IRS, and there’s literally nothing that could hurt him in there.

Reminds me of an old cartoon, where a little boy keep looking into his bundled hands and laughing. It soon caught the attention of the other kids, who become very curious of what he was looking at. The little boy continued to peak and laugh, drawing further curiosity by others, to the point of them grabbing his hands to look... to which there was nothing.
Trump played this as if he had something to hide, only to draw out the kids and expose their antics. He goat roped them. He made them go past the point of no return, to which it set the stagged of being able to get the Dems opposition a foothold into their taxes, if only to point out the blatant hypocrisy and political warfare if the Dem attempt to evade.
Seems like a well played long game strategy, even if it cost him a couple dollars.

I understand he is sore about not being able to keep his fairly mundane tax returns secret and remaining the odd man out in disclosure terms, but this latest demand is absurd. By all means investigate Hunter, based on facts gleaned from the laptop. Requiring that children disclose their tax returns, as a matter of course, is a bridge too far.
He is a private citizen.

It would be interesting since Joe and Jill used an S corporation to avoid paying full taxes on their supposed income from book sales.
