It is absolutely meaningless. Weather changes day to day, month to month, season to season. There isnโ€™t a single thing man can do about other than change clothing and heat or cool their homes. It the epitome of arrogance to think man can change the weather or climate. Go about your lives and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior with family and friends.

Could these “anomalies” be G-D’s way of reminding us who’s ultimately calling the shots here?

How about some charts from 1,000 BC? Or 10,000 BC? Or 100,000 BC? Anyone seen the Yosemite glacier? ๐Ÿ˜

I hear thermometers were very accurate back then. Iโ€™m just be facetious. Research the accuracy of proxy measurements. Therein is the source of propaganda and lies.

I read carefully to discern where and how that zero baseline came about. In any event, despite “dramatic” appearances, the variations above and below the line, do not even amount to 1 degree.

10,000 BC is close to the date that the last ice age officially ended. Earth would have looked and felt much the same way it looks and feels today.

One big difference - the Sahara Desert was a vast savannah with agriculture and animal herding and a significant human population.

The last ice age started around 120,000 years ago. It was definitely getting colder by 100,000 BC. Glacial maximum occurred around 20,000 BC.

To paraphrase Stalin, “It’s not the temperature readings that matter, what matters is who reads the temperature”

Here's the data back 420,000 years. It was taken from ice core data in Vostok Antarctica, which is accepted as quite accurate.

Re: "I read carefully to discern where and how that zero baseline came about."

You make a very good point, Migraine.

I assumed ZERO was the day the temperature series started.

Clearly, the temps do not start at ZERO.

The satellite temps are the "Departure from the 1991-2020 average," which adds a new level of complexity to the issue.

From memory, once they get 30 years of data, that becomes a moving average baseline, but I have never understood the statistical purpose.
