It was a decade that spawned the Sex Pistols and the Vietnam War, platform shoes and Saturday Night Fever.
The Seventies also gave us The Godfather and Space Hoppers but those glam rock years will forever live in the shadow of the Swinging Sixties.

Levis made in USA - exactly the size I wanted.
Big Japanese motorcycles with chain drive, headers, velocity stacks running on leaded gas (and inexpensive rear tires)

They weren’t a great deal better in Michigan, IIRC Watching local news and they make chicken little look calm.

Most of the 60’s revolution happened in the 1970’s. It was sex, drugs and rock and roll

Better yet, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers got their start in the 70s.

I had that same reaction. People make mistakes when writing, I know I do. But something like that, right out of the gate...it makes one not want to even read the rest of it.

Yeah, unlike in the 70’s when the weathermen massively undersold storms and you genuinely didn’t know how bad it would be.

The amazing thing is that the errors happen so often that they are just glossed over, and we have come to accept them. Incompetence rules the day, it seems.

Even back then, when I was much less aware of the overly litigious nature our country was acquiring (in addition to what we already had!) I remember trying out a pair of those in full view of another pair that had already shattered (looking for all the world like a pair of tootsie pop heads on the end of strings after someone had crunched a large part of one of them between their molars!) and I thought: "Huh. They won't be in business long!"

Funny-now that I think of it (and I could be wrong) wasn’t the Seventies when the nearly full transition on passenger cars away from bias-ply towards radial tires took place?
I remember being so hard up that I purchased re-treads, which were okay for a few thousand miles, but always seemed to give out early.
Now, I wonder-what happened to all those companies that had been making re-tread tires for decades?
I presume you cannot make re-treads out of radial tires, since, except for truck tires, I don’t think anyone uses bias-ply tires anymore. (for passenger vehicles, at least)

Just went to a restaurant with a bunch of local concert posters hanging on the walls as decorations. Big name bands with $4 to $6 tickets.

Yeah, unlike in the 70’s when the weathermen massively undersold storms and you genuinely didn’t know how bad it would be. In the 70's, they didn't have the technology, and also we did not have the over the top winter storm warnings.
Tornado warnings are another thing, and important.
