-Rabbits For Urban Preppers-🐰

Meat rabbits are one of the easiest meat sources to get involved with for many reasons. They are nearly silent, are easy to care for and don’t usually require a lot of input from you once they give birth (unlike chickens). And if you are concerned about privacy, it’s quite easy to raise rabbits without any of your neighbors ever knowing they exist. The same can rarely be said about other small livestock like chickens, geese, sheep or goats. And rabbits take up a fraction of the space of other livestock. In fact, six pounds of rabbit meat can be produced with the same amount of clean water and feed as one pound of beef.

The problem is…they’re so darned cute.

My dad had a story about going through survival training in the Air Force. They were out in the wilderness, learning how to find water, survive on food they could find. Then he got captured and had to spend some time in a POW wicker cage. At the end of it, they brought out a rabbit to teach them how to kill, skin and cook it. He said said it was this cute bunny with a pink nose and even though he was starved from living off leaves and pemmican bars for a week, he couldn’t eat the bunny. He traded it to another guy for one of his pemmican bars. My tender-hearted papa who grew up on a farm where they killed hogs and chickens…. Couldn’t handle the bunny ❤️

All true, but it isn't as good as the beef, and I like rabbit.

Good crypto animal husbandry! Growing up my younger brother raised rabbits.

Mrs. Pete will never be persuaded to eat rabbit. I will have to hope that they continue to raise cattle in Kansas!

OK.....some hard core prepping! (I know...part of the WEF Agenda!)

"Can You Eat Mealworms?"

"You may have some reservations about consuming mealworms due to safety concerns over their edibility, but organizations like the European Food Safety Authority have cleared this up by approving mealworms for human consumption. They conducted thorough scientific research and discovered that the microbes in mealworms' gut system don’t pose any health risks to humans.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), bugs/insects are considered food if that is their intended use.

There are several ways to include mealworms in your diet. Before we get to that, you must be wondering how they taste. Mealworms have a peanut-like taste. Many exciting recipes are available to guide you on including mealworms in your ordinary meals."

You eat bugs in military survival schools. (Palmetto bugs and stuff.) Going to put this off as long as possible and eat the oatmeal and carrots instead! :)

Yabut, you have to be a blood-thirsty psycho-killer to kill and butcher the gentle, warm and fuzzy, cuddly little bunny wabbits.
