3:00 AM SAT. Morning.....-5 windchill -36

I've never seen it this bad! Any time the temps drop into the 20’s and teens isn't good and you can, as you mentioned, notice inside temps show the difference especially if there's wind.
You might consider putting a pan of water on low simmer on your stove to rise the inside temps, heat adheres to moisture so it ‘stays’ and is warmer. I first do a rapid boil then lower it to a simmer so there's constant moisture, it really makes a difference.

The wind has really been relentless up here....and the gusts have taken down trees in various places. My friend got home from work last night to find a tree down across her driveway into her yard so had to park at her neighbors. No to mention the power outages in various places.

I closed off all rooms except the open kitchen living room area. Even so I expect my heating bill to be high.

LOL, I remember those days when I lived in Pompano Beach as a kid. We didn’t move to Tennessee until I started high school. I had never seen snow in person until high school. We had winters in Florida that were cold enough that we actually had to wear shoes. If it went to 40, we dug out coats that my grandmother sent us from Chattanooga every winter. She couldn’t imagine winter without coats.

The Omnibus Bill is an unmitigated disaster. Mitch McConnell pushed it through for the Democrats. So bad for our Country, so bad for the Republican Party!

https://truthsocial.com/users/realDonaldTrump/statuses/109566549715577689

The highly partisan Unselect Committee of political Hacks & Thugs should be ashamed of themselves. I fought terrible Liz Cheney and she lost her House Seat in RECORD fashion. I fought Cryin’ Adam K and he quit. The Committee Dems are the same Russia, Russia, Russia and Impeachment crowd. Of course they don’t want me to run because I beat them twice (they cheated, just look at the FBI Facebook & Twitter Scandals!) and am leading in the polls, by a lot. That’s what this is all about. Scammers!!!

https://truthsocial.com/users/realDonaldTrump/statuses/109566559160618726

THE DEMOCRATS ARE ONLY GOOD AT TWO THINGS: DISINFORMATION & CHEATING ON ELECTIONS!!!

https://truthsocial.com/users/realDonaldTrump/statuses/109566582412013727

The Unselect Committee “forgot” to hold Crazy Nancy Pelosi liable for not accepting my recommendation for troops in D.C. If she had, there would be no January 6th, as we know it!

The wind is what kills. If you and pets can stay out of the wind, it’s not quite as bad. When you grew up in Fl. though, cold is cold. :-)

I spent two days before it got here wrapping pipes, getting the heat lamp on in the well house, getting a place made for the old dog, and other winterizing things. Since my husband can still only get around inside, it took me a little longer, but I got it done.

Pompano Beach this morning...
45...”feels like” 40
Sipping covfefe in the back yard with flippies, jeans, truckers cap and hoodie. Might wear shoes and socks later.

Neighbor’s dog (Frenchie) two houses over has been whimpering and yelping since 0530. Wondering if the poor thing’s been out all night. I’m tempted to go over and grab the dog and bring it in my house. They are the leftists on the block..probably all warm in their onesies, completely oblivious to the plight of the pain outside their own back door. The need a cast iron skillet upside their minds full of mush

That’s cold for down there. We used to go to the beach on Christmas.

Dogs down there would be cold at 40 or 45. It won’t kill them but if they are house dogs they would be terribly uncomfortable. My housedogs, Feists, don’t stay outside long here if it’s 45.

my Pyrenees thinks this weather is great. At ten, she still becomes a feisty playful puppy. Next week when it warms up I’ll take her on the boat and stern anchor just north of the Hillsboro inlet on the intracoastal, so she can go swimming and so I can relax with a beer and read. Mostly for the beer =o)

...puppy is annoyingly cute

Do you miss Pompano?

I miss the beach. We were minutes from the beach. I love my mountains more though. When it’s below freezing here, I wish I were back on the beach.
