People are fat because they have no discipline and self control.
Blaming the FDA is scapegoating.
Most people don’t give a damn what the food pyramid states, nor could they quote it from memory. (I agree it’s a crap system)
Eating salad is part of the bad advice.
Severely overweight people are insulin resistant. They can’t lose weight by dieting. If they eat less their body keeps the weight and makes then lethargic.
They lose weight by eating moderately, avoiding snacks and having at least 12 hour between the last meal of the day and breakfast the next day. They need to then have two non sequential 24 hour fast (i.e. Tuesday & Friday) per week. That is exactly what many doctors tell them not to do.
