Here in MO; Thurs high of 35 dropping to 11 by 5pm, rain turning to snow which means ice with snow on top. Fri morning -7 with 40 mph gusts for -28 wind chill. Gonna put the battery charge on my truck and hope it will start so I can make it to work. Good time for an engine block heater even though it’s not a diesel.
This is all according to NWS and they do tend to exaggerate just to get people to pay attention I guess. Still, -40 wind chill, -30 wind chill, whatever. Danger.
If you don’t have an engine block heater use a shop drop light with an incandescent bulb. Placed close to the oil pan it will heat the engine oil and block and it will start easy. Be careful where you place it as the heat can melt plastic if too close.
