Director James Cameron disappointed fans Saturday by ignoring their requests for autographs as he exited the WGA building in Beverly Hills, then flipping them the bird.
Video footage shows fans swarming around the famous director in hopes of catching a personal response from him, or getting an autograph, but things didn’t quite turn out the way they expected. The excited buzz from the crowd quickly turned into boos and chants of “fuck Avatar!” when Cameron blew past his fans without stopping to greet or acknowledge them in any way, according to TMZ. He aggravated the situation by sticking his middle finger out of the car window as he was being whisked away.
Cameron’s film, “Avatar: Way of Water,” was released Dec. 16 but didn’t generate the box office numbers many expected, according to TMZ. Rather than showing love to his fans, Cameron decided to ignore all the cell phones that were being held up as they recorded the moment.
He walked through the crowd like a man on a mission to disappear and jumped into his awaiting SUV as quickly as he could. Cameron didn’t even throw a glance at the crowd that had gathered.
Someone from the group called Cameron an “asshole.” Cameron was swiftly driven away from the crowd.
I thought he tested positive for Covid and couldn’t attend the premiere.
68...................
Exactly. The original movie was boring...nothing more than a group of computer generated individuals fighting off evil Capitalists who want to encroach on their land, in order to mine it. The new movie sounds like the old one. Won't be watching it, or any others he makes.
I saw a trailer for the new one yesterday. I was surprised by how dated the CGI looked.

With rare exceptions, like Ton Cruise, most of Hollywood has been giving its fans the middle finger.
Who goes to such smurf garbage? Way of Loser more like it.
Same people who go to Star Wars movies and dress up like the characters when they go to Comic-cons...............
That doesn't surprise me. Hasn't he been working on this since the first movie came out in 2006? Either he used CGI footage he'd already had in the can since he first announced the second film, or he used a cheaper CGI company to save money.
You’re right. If they were children it might make sense but they’re probably well past 30.
Their bodies are.
Their minds not so much....................
Cameron’s a white liberal elite jerk (does he also own a home in Martha’s Vineyard?)
That said, Cameron’s movies are so beautiful I don’t care.
He can support having 15 million illegals flood into the country, believe in Global Warming, praise thugs who drive into Christmas parades killing innocent people and support President Sniffer and I forgive him his idiocy.
Oh, the greatest movie ever, even better than his Titanic.
B.O. not so good? I guess everyone got sick of the disgusting preaching of the first.
Although Cameron isn’t generally well liked by many cast and crew who’ve worked with him, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one, as these backdoor studio stalkers are typically 95% ratzi-press leeches and eBay autograph vendors.
So....basically Tomb Raider.
He also hates your guts and wants you and you children dead...............
Those seem like possibilities although I would think he’d have the pull and the budget to get the best CGI. To my eyes it had the problem common in older CGI which is that graphically it’s good but there’s something noticeably wrong about the “physics” of it. The characters and objects lack mass and heft in the way they move...hard to explain but the effect is cartoonish.
Yes.......................
To be fair, the entire Avatar franchise is a middle finger to western civilization.
He was Ike Clanton in Tombstone. Now that’s a great flick.
