But on the surface, when it comes to action? They will glance around and, in 150 milliseconds, assess the general mood, "read" the room, and try to "chime in."

It's like the famous "Prisoner Dilemma." Doesn't matter if you are honest - the fact that another prisoner might betray you virtually forces you to be dishonest (or choose the "sneakier" / less-altruistic course).

Among women, it is considered - on a visceral level - very improper to "rock the boat." Consensus is king!
